Kreativ Blogger Award

I know this is many days late, but I have been on vacation and just now catching up with things. I was nominated for this award by my sweet friend, Lindsey! Thanks Lindsey (http://lindseyandjaymcrae.blogspot.com/)! She has got to be one of the cutest moms that I know!

Anyway, here's what I'm supposed to do:
1-Thank the person who nominated you for this award.
2-Copy the logo and place it on your blog.
3-Link to the person who nominated you for this award.
4-Name 7 things about yourself that people may not know.
5-Nominate 7 Kreativ Bloggers.
6-Post links to the 7 blogs you nominate.
7-Leave a comment on each of the blogs letting them know they've been nominated

7 Things that you may not know about me:

1-I am super scared of heights, but have been skydiving and absolutely loved it! However, I probably wouldn't do it again. Why push your luck?

2-I love to cook and bake-especially cupcakes :). I'm a neat freak in the kitchen and must clean up any spills/messes immediately.

3-I can't stand when my hands are dirty--or anything else on my body for that matter. I absolutely love the beach, but hate the sand....it sticks to your body and feet and it drives me crazy!

4- I'm secretly worried that when I have children, I will be too much of a neat freak and be constantly cleaning up around the baby. Hopefully, I will let some of that go and be more laid back....hopefully!?!

5-I love to travel and would love to pick up and just move somewhere for a couple of years. My first choice would be Maui.

6-My dream is to have my own successful business--a cupcake storefront with cute bistro tables, platters full of yummy cupcakes and an old fashioned milk machine.

7-I don't mind spending money on clothes, shoes, etc--however, I have a hard time paying the extra $.25 for the name brand product at the grocery store. The store brands are just as good, right???

I don't think that I have 7 people to nominate, but here are a couple (if you've already been nominated, sorry!):

1-My BFF, Amy! She's awesome & loves to do these kind of things :) http://jasonandamyhand.blogspot.com/

2-Mary Kate Brown--she's the cutest republican I know :) http://marykateanderson.blogspot.com/

Fun with Halloween Cupcakes

Kyle and I watched our niece and nephews last week while their parents attended an event. I decided that we needed a project! Since Halloween will be here before we know it, I thought it would be fun to decorate Halloween cupcakes. I bought several different types of candy and sprinkles to bring out the creativity.

Ellie and her monster cupcakes

Cooper and his goblin and spider web cupcakes

Cole and his very creative worm cupcakes

It's Football Time in Tennessee....and cupcakes!

This past Labor Day weekend, Kyle and I went to Gatlinburg for our brother-in-law's 40th surprise birthday! Happy Birthday Jay! I think that he was totally surprised and Katie put together a great weekend. While there, we were able to make it to the UT season opener! It was a great game! I'm super excited about UT football this year....oh, and Vandy football, too.
Before we hit the road, I made Virginia Tech and Alabama cupcakes for my friend, Marissa. She was heading to that football game in Atlanta. I hope they were a big hit! I also couldn't resist making Titans cupcakes. I'm excited to take those to tailgate parties this fall.
Back in the swing of things, I started playing around with cupcakes for the baby showers that I'm doing this weekend. One of the showers has a teal / lime green theme. I think these cupcakes will turn out really cute!

The Big 3-0!

I recently had a pretty big birthday! I'm still trying to decide if I should be happy or sad...ha! Kyle and my BFF, Amy, planned a surprise party at Mad Donna's on my birthday! I was completely surprised! It was such a fun time with good friends and family!
I'm a big birthday person and like to celebrate all week / weekend / month...whatever it takes!
Here are a few pics from my birthday weekend!

The Bedroom is Painted!

Yea! So, we have lived in this townhome for over a year and never got around to painting the upstairs. You know how that goes? We were really excited to decorate when we first moved in, but then the newness wears off and you kinda forget about it.
Now that I have more time on my hands, Kyle's mom and I put a plan together and have started making some strides--custom curtains, paint, sconces, art etc. Last week, Wayne & Vickie came over and helped paint the bedroom....and by "helped" I pretty much mean "painted the bedroom." I helped a little bit, but they are PROFESSIONAL painters!
The room is almost finished. We just need to hang the sconces over the bed and put up the art. Here are a few pictures.
Thank you Wayne & Vickie!

The bed before pillows and wall color.

Yea for curtains and paint!

Just waiting for sconces and art over the bed!

Sports-Themed Cupcakes

This past weekend, I made cupcakes for Cole and Cooper's birthday party. They are both really into sports and love baseball and basketball. For the cake, I did the rainbow cupcakes, which turned out really cute! I iced them in basketball, baseball and football designs.
They were a BIG hit at the party.
