Fun Friday Photo

Remember the gigantic stuffed bear?

I'm sure that Will and Ben (the bear has officially been named!) will soon become best friends!  We hope he won't choose Ben as the stuffed animal he wants to take everywhere he goes!  That could be a little cumbersome!  Ha!

In other news--Will's cord fell off today!  Hooray!  We're moving on to "real" baths!

Love at First Sight!

On August 2nd at 12:17pm, Kyle and I welcomed William Dean Tomlinson into our family!  He weighed 6 lb 6 oz and was 17.5 inches long (although 11 days later, at the pediatrician office, they measured him at 19 1/4 inches...so, I'm thinking that the hospital made a mistake).
We are overwhelmed with joy and feel so truly blessed that God chose us to parent this precious baby boy.  Our number one goal is to make sure we bring this child up in the sight of God and that we do whatever it takes to make sure that he gets to Heaven one day!  In the short two weeks and two days that Will has been a part of our family, we already can't remember what life was like before he arrived!  Nothing prepares you for the love you feel for your child the minute you lay eyes on them.  Every morning I wake up and look at him in awe that he is our son.
Here is a little bit about our special delivery!

Leaving for the hospital on August 2nd!
Getting ready to head into the OR for our scheduled c-section! My OB and I had discussed having a c-section throughout my entire pregnancy due to several different reasons.  My "birth plan" was that I wanted the path of least resistance!  For my particular situation, that turned out to be a c-section.  I know that everyone has a different birth experience, but I have to say that I do not regret AT ALL going the c-section route.  In fact, I have to say that it was SO EASY!  I was the most anxious about the spinal tap, but it turned out to be completely painless (the IV hurt worse!).  The c-section went off without a hitch and I rarely, if at all, had pain post-op.  I was up and walking several hours after the c-section and felt great throughout my three night stay in the hospital.  I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

Will's Nursery!

The nursery is finally finished!  Whoo-hoo!  With only 17 days to go, nothing like waiting until the last minute!  However, in my opinion, it was well worth the wait!  We just moved into a new house almost four weeks ago and Will's nursery is the only room that is complete!  Kyle's mom made ALL of the bedding, the roman shade, the lamp shade, the changing pad cover and the bulletin board!  She did an AMAZING job!  I love the way it turned out!  Now, we just need our little baby boy for it to be complete!

Happy Anniversary!

On Monday, Kyle and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary!  My how times flies and life changes in such a short period of time!  Kyle brought me flowers and we enjoyed a yummy dinner at Mere Bulles in Brentwood--the same location as our rehearsal dinner.  I feel so blessed to have married my best friend!  Kyle is the most kind and loving person and I can't wait to watch him in his new role as "Daddy" in just a couple of weeks.  Little Will is going to be one lucky guy!

Then.....

and now.....

Baby Shower(s)

I'm so far behind in updating my blog that I don't really even know where to start.  Back in June, my sisters and friends threw a baby shower for Will and myself!  My sister, Emily, was kind enough to host the shower at her house and I had a fabulous time.  Every detail was so special!  The food was centered around foods that I have been craving since I've been pregnant.  I haven't had "weird" cravings, but I definitely get hung up on something and that is all I can think about!  For some reason, I LOVE McAlister's french dip sandwich and their Spud Ole (I should be their spokesperson!).  So, included in the menu was a baked potato bar and pork tenderloin sandwiches along with Ro*tel and chips (who doesn't crave that anyway!), fruit kebobs, cream puffs, cheesecake and sweet tea!  Mmmmm!  Makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Amy made her signature ADORABLE diaper cake!  You must contact her if you ever need a diaper cake for any reason!  She is the best!

She also made these precious party favors for everyone to take home!  Inside were two yummy cookies!

My adorable nieces!

Me & my mom (she's got the hand on the hip down pat!)

I'm so thankful to have such a great family and such wonderful friends!  It was really fun to see some people that I had not seen in quite a while!  I'm sad that I didn't get a group picture OR a picture with all of the hostess! :(  Thank you so much to everyone who helped and came to the shower!  It really meant alot to me!

I also had a baby shower at Otter Creek Church hosted by the sweet girls in my Life Group as well as an old college friend, Darci Belville!  Thank you ladies!
